The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi will not be part of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon due to injury. However, he has been replaced by Dele Ajiboye.
Akpeyi supposed to stand on the post for the Eagles as they face the Indomitable Lions in the crucial match, but the team’s Twitter handle revealed he’s been injured and replaced.
“Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is out of Friday’s game owing to injury. Dele Ajiboye of Plateau United FC is his replacement,” Super Eagles tweeted on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, has accepted the challenge of manning the goal against the Indomitable Lions.
“I’ve waited two years for this opportunity and I will seize it with both hands,” said the 28-year old home-based Eagles captain.
