Real Madrid has officially confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club to Juventus on a deal of £105m. The deal ends the star’s nine years contract with the Los Blancos.

The statement reads; “Today Real Madrid wants to give thanks to a player who has demonstrated he is the best in the world and who marked one of the most brilliant periods in the history of our club and world football,” the club said in a statement.

“For Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of its great symbols,” said the club statement.
“Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has marked one of the brightest times in the history of our club and world football.

“Real Madrid will always be your home.”

The 33-year-old joined the Bernabeu from Manchester United to the tune of £80m in July 2009 and set a record of 451 goals scored in the club. He also won the Ballon D’Or award which is given to the world’s best footballer – in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
