The Algerian reigning African Best Player, Riyad Mahrez, is on the verge of completing a move to Premier League champions, Chelsea, on Thursday.
Riyad Mahrez will be leaving Leicester City where he was crowned Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA) Player of the Year after guiding them to the league title in 2016.
The 26-year old Algerian, who ought to be in camp with his country ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Zambia, was given permission to leave on Wednesday night to resolve the bid.
Barcelona was said to have interest in him, but Chelsea is expected to complete the £45m signing before the transfer deadline, later on Thursday.
Chelsea is also hopeful of completing moves for Fernando Llorente, Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater on deadline day.
